Hi, I’m Eva. It’s great to meet you! I’m a 20-something food-lover, currently working on my M.D. in sunny Florida. By night, I am the cook, author, and photographer behind From Scratch Stat. I live with my taste tester-turned-husband, Scott, and our brindle bundle of joy, Claudia. I cook to cope and Scott loves lives to eat, so we make a decisively efficient pair.
After a lot of prodding from the aforementioned taste-tester, I started this blog to chronicle our newlywed adventures in the kitchen and to share the recipes that we love. I invite you to face your fears (for me: macaroons) with us one mouthful at a time. My philosophy: with a little planning, cooking from scratch does not have to be overwhelming or a huge time commitment. I only post recipes that we have tried and loved, so chances are you may not see a post every single day. (That awesome looking quinoa pizza crust from Pinterest didn’t work out for you? Don’t worry it didn’t work out for us either.) Despite lots of trial and error, we strive for fresh, reliable meals, stat. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you leave with a full stomach and the confidence to tackle your own personal macaroon today.
